Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about setting up and using ClassCheckpoint in your classroom.

The Basics

ClassCheckpoint is a simple digital tool that lets teachers manage student bathroom and hallway breaks without interrupting class.

Instead of students raising their hands, they enter their unique 4-digit code on a shared classroom device, get automatically tracked when they leave and return, and join a queue if too many students are already out.

For teachers: no interruptions, automatic record-keeping, and clear data on break patterns — all without extra effort.

The Basics

Students use ClassCheckpoint in three steps:

  • Sign Out: Type their 4-digit code and tap "Sign Out" when they need a break
  • Take the break: The system automatically tracks how long they're gone
  • Sign In: Type their code again when they return

If too many students are already out, they'll join a queue and the screen notifies them when it's their turn.

The Basics

No special equipment needed. ClassCheckpoint runs in any modern web browser:

  • Any computer, laptop, tablet, or Chromebook with internet
  • No app to install — just open a browser tab
  • One device placed near the classroom exit is all students need
The Basics

Yes — student privacy is built into the design:

  • We only store first and last names and break timing data
  • No addresses, phone numbers, or other personal information
  • All data is encrypted and stored securely
  • You control what data is kept and when it's cleared
Getting Started

Setup takes under 10 minutes for most teachers:

  • Step 1: Create your class schedule — add your block names and start/end times
  • Step 2: Add students by name, or import from Google Classroom
  • Step 3: Each student automatically gets a unique 4-digit passcode — print the list
  • Step 4: Launch the student interface on your classroom device and you're live
Getting Started

Yes. Google Classroom integration makes setup very fast:

  • Connect your Google account with one click
  • Select which classes to import
  • Student names populate automatically and passcodes are generated instantly
  • Takes less than 2 minutes per class

You can also add students manually or upload a list if you prefer.

How It Works

Each student gets a unique 4-digit passcode that identifies them in the system:

  • Automatically generated from student names — no setup required
  • Easy for students to remember — just 4 digits
  • Private to each student to prevent unauthorized use
  • Printable lists you can hand out on day one

Students memorize their code and use it every time they need a break.

How It Works

ClassCheckpoint has a built-in queue system to prevent hallway crowding:

  • You set how many students can be out at once (usually 1 or 2)
  • Additional students are added to a waiting list automatically
  • The screen shows each student their position in the queue
  • When a student returns, the next person in line is notified
How It Works

Yes. As a teacher you have full control from your dashboard. If a student forgets to sign back in or you need to clear the queue, you can sign anyone in or out manually from the teacher view at any time.

You can also enable an "End All Breaks" button in your settings for quickly clearing everyone at the end of a class period.

How It Works

No — it's designed to reduce your workload. Once set up, it runs entirely on its own:

  • Students manage their own sign-outs without interrupting you
  • Break data is recorded automatically — no manual logs
  • Reports are available instantly when you need them
  • The system handles queuing, timing, and tracking in the background
